Cut Major is private-league fantasy golf built around best-ball scoring. Each player picks four golfers. On every hole, the best score from those four golfers is the score that counts.
Before lineup lock
What to do first
- Copy the invite link and send it to the group.
- Confirm the active participant cap and lock joins if the pool is full.
- Make sure everyone knows the lineup lock time.
- Remind players that picks can be changed before lock.
- Check that lineup-ready reminder emails are enabled in profile settings if you use them.
- Decide how you want to handle offline payments or prizes outside Cut Major.

Invite players
Copy the invite link from commissioner controls and send it to the group. Players join from that link on web or in the app.

Confirm lineup rules
Check the participant cap, invite lock setting, missed-lineup handling, and the tournament lineup lock time before the first tee time.

After lineups lock, players follow live scoring, the leaderboard, pick reports, Clubhouse chat, and recap posts.

If your pool uses offline payments or prizes, the commissioner handles those arrangements outside Cut Major. Cut Major may provide bookkeeping fields for dues status and payout estimates, but it does not collect, hold, process, transfer, distribute, guarantee, or enforce payouts.

The questions people ask first.
How many golfers do players pick?
Players pick four golfers for a single-event pool. The best score from those four golfers counts on each hole.
When do lineups lock?
Lineups lock at the event lock time shown in Cut Major, usually before tournament play begins. Commissioners should confirm the lock time before inviting the group.
Can players change picks before lock?
Yes. Players can update their lineup until the event locks.
What happens if someone misses a lineup?
By default, Cut Major auto-fills missing lineups after lock when event golfers are available. Commissioners can also set or overwrite a player's lineup from commissioner controls when needed.
What happens if a golfer withdraws or never starts?
Cut Major uses built-in withdrawal and no-start rules. If a golfer withdraws or never starts before completing 9 holes, Cut Major attempts to replace them with the highest-cost eligible golfer at or below the original golfer's salary who is not already in that lineup. Once a golfer completes 9 or more holes, that pick stays locked. Any automated change appears in lineup history after event data is processed.
Can I cap the number of players?
Yes. Commissioner controls include a max active participants setting. The free single-event tier includes up to 10 active participants, with paid capacity upgrades available on web.
Can I lock new participants?
Yes. Commissioners can lock joining from the Members & invites page once the group is set.
Can I run this for free?
Yes. Single-event pools are free for up to 10 active participants, including the commissioner.
Can commissioners collect league dues offline?
Commissioners can manage any offline league arrangements themselves. Cut Major can provide bookkeeping fields if you turn on dues tracking.
Does Cut Major handle payouts?
No. Cut Major does not collect, hold, process, transfer, distribute, guarantee, or enforce payouts. Commissioners handle any offline payments or prizes.
Do players need the mobile app?
No. Players can use web. The iOS and Android apps are companions for joining, lineups, standings, and Clubhouse activity.
